Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Listen World app (“the app”), provided by the Listen World Dev team (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal use, in accordance with the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

Translation accuracy — important

The app produces automated translations generated by on-device machine-learning models. Automated translation can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading — especially with background noise, accents, specialized terminology, or less common languages (some are labeled Beta).

Do not rely on the app’s translations for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or emergency purposes, or for any decision where an error could cause harm. You are responsible for verifying any translation before relying on it. For critical situations, use a qualified human interpreter.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that translations will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or its translations.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including using it to violate any law or the rights of others, or to record or translate other people without any consent required by your jurisdiction.

Apple App Store

These Terms are concluded between you and the Listen World Dev team only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves; changes take effect when posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
